The Information Department through the Tutong District Information branch recently held a dialogue with the residents of Mukim Pekan Tutong at Tutong District’s official residence hall.
The dialogue served as a platform for open communication with the community.
Acting Director of Information Department Siti Bismi Nuruliman binti Haji Awang Emzah said the programme allowed government agencies to hold discussions with community leaders and convey and explain matters relating to the public as well as providing official government information.
Matters presented at the discussion session revolved around infrastructure, public facilities and the environment.
The programme also aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between the government and the people.
Also present during the discussion were Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan who is the Village Head of Kampong Sengkarai; Acting Deputy Director of Information Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya; Penghulu of Mukim Pekan Tutong Haji Salim bin Haji Othman and village heads under Mukim Pekan Tutong.
Attendees included senior officials from government departments namely Tutong District Department, Tutong Municipal Department, Department of Drainage and Sewerage, Public Works Department, Department of Electrical Services, Department of Schools, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Religious Affairs. – Azlan Othman
