Residents of Mukim Gadong ‘A’ have begun voting to elect a new village head in the Voting and Selection Ceremony for the Village Head of Mukim Gadong ‘A’, which took place at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School on Friday.
Two candidates are being considered, namely, Haji Awang Adnan bin A. Haji Bagol, 67, and Haji Muhammad Nur Ihsan bin Haji Mat Jali, 39.
The first candidate, Haji Awang Adnan, currently serves as the Village Head of Area 3, STKRJ Tungku, Mukim Gadong A. He has previously worked as a Senior Technical Instructor at the Department of Technical Education under the Ministry of Education.
The second candidate, Haji Muhammad Nur Ihsan, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah (Fiqh & Judiciary) obtained in 2012, and a Diploma in Islamic Law and Legal Practice obtained in 2014 from Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA). He is currently serving as an Al-Quran teacher at Jame Asr Hassanal Bolkiah and UNISSA.
Residents of Mukim Gadong A aged 18 and above are encouraged to vote for their preferred Village Head candidate through the e-Undi PMKK mobile application from August 9 to August 11 or via paper ballots on August 9 and August 11, 2024. – ADIB NOOR
