Despite a heavy downpour of rain, a friendly football match brought together Mukim Penghulus, Village Chiefs, and Acting Village Chiefs from the Brunei-Muara District Saturday evening at the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) Football Field.
This first-of-its-kind event was organised by the Mukim Penghulus and Village Chiefs of the district.
The event will be officiated by the Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman as the guest of honour who also joined the friendly match alongside the other participants.
In addition to the guest of honour, the match was attended by Permanent Secretaries from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Members of the Legislative Council, Acting District Officers of Brunei-Muara, as well as Mukim Penghulus and Village Chiefs.
The match aims to foster camaraderie and strengthen relationships among local leaders while promoting an active and healthy lifestyle through sports.
This initiative reflects a commitment to building unity and promoting well-being among community leaders, with football serving as the perfect medium for both friendly competition and strengthening bonds. – James Kon
