MS ABDB and Shah United became the first teams to advance into the knock-out stage of the Brunei Futsal Cup 2022 after winning their Group ‘A’ matches at the Ministry of Defence on Monday.

Shah United cruised past Creativol 7-1 while MS ABDB put five past GG FT without reply in the late kick-off.

Both sides won their opening matches as well, meaning their place in the quarterfinals is secure with a game to spare.

Haji Md Fardi Farhan scored in the opening minute of the game before Fakhri Haji Bangkul doubled his side’s lead in the third minute.

Shah United enjoyed a goal blitz in a space of seven minutes as Khalil Saab, Nor Azwar Zuwairey, Abdul Muiz Sharizan, Abdul Khabir Haji Ismail and Md Fithratul Rahman all found the back of the net.

Creativol’s Faris Wa’ie Sohardi’s strike in the 28th minute proved a mere consolation.

MS ABDB forward Awangku Muhammad Jumatatul Aleshahrezan bin Pengiran Metali continued his scoring streak after bagging a hat-trick to lead his team to a 5-0 victory. Md Izzan Zamain and Md Wajdi Arbi were also in the score-sheet for the army personnel.

The competition continues tonight in Group ‘C’ with Almerez FA taking on PES while Kota Ranger FC will fancy their chances against Silveredz FT.

The top two teams from each group will qualify to the quarterfinals, commencing on July 13.
The final of the competition has been scheduled on July 19.
