Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Kehasan Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday at the UBD Campus in Jalan Tungku Link, Gadong. The signing ceremony was facilitated by the Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry Engagement and Enterprise Development).
The MoU aims to strengthen research collaboration between industry and academia by providing a platform to demonstrate findings from laboratory-based academic research in real-time industrial environments. This will help increase the technological readiness level (TRL) of laboratory-based technological developments and promote the commercialisation of academic research.
The partnership will combine UBD’s academic expertise with Kehasan’s practical industry experience and connectivity, potentially expanding the range of sustainable solutions and services Kehasan can offer its customers. The MoU was signed by Kehasant Director Pengiran Dato Paduka Osman Patra and UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle. The event was witnessed by Kehasan Managing Director Jeffrey Shim and Associate Professor Dr Malai Haniti binti Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Director of the Centre for Advanced Material and Energy Sciences (CAMES).
