    MoU signed for occupational health, safety training

    Kare Medical Clinic signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Malaysia yesterday, to provide occupational health and safety training in the Sultanate.

    Kare Medical Clinic Clinical Director Dr Haji Mohammad Munir bin Dato Haji Metassan and NIOSH Malaysia Executive Secretary Major (Rtd) Haji Hanif bin Maidin signed the agreement, witnessed by Kare Medical Clinic General Manager Terrance Chan and NIOSH Malaysia Senior Executive Mohammad Syaifullah Jamaludin.

    The collaboration will launch occupational first aid and mental health first aid training for Brunei industries, equipping employees with skills to manage medical emergencies and mental health crises.

    Following the courses, future training programmes will include chemical safety, fire safety, emergency preparedness and ergonomics.

    Major (Rtd) Haji Hanif on highlighting the impact of the collaboration said, “The partnership with Kare Medical Clinic allows us to extend NIOSH’s expertise and resources to Brunei, helping to elevate the standards of occupational safety and health not only within industries but also benefiting the wider community.” – James Kon
