Bruneians now have another choice of high-tech engine lubricants with the introduction of Motul, a globally renowned French company specialising in field engine lubricants and related products for over 170 years.
A1 Auto Company is the first official appointed distributor of Motul in the Sultanate and the official launching was held on Saturday night at its workshop building in Gadong Properties.

Motul has many industry firsts’ achievements to its name. In 1953, Motul brought the first truly Multigrade motor oil to the market – Motul Century. In 1966, Motul Century 2100 ushered in the age of synthetic lubricants. This was the first semi synthetic lubricant containing all the advantages of castor oil but without the disadvantages: cost, oxidation and varnish deposit.
As early as 1971, Motul was the first lubricant manufacturer to pioneer the formulation of a 100 per cent synthetic lubricant for automotive engines, its flagship product Motul 300V, which makes use of ‘Ester technology’ gained from experience from the aeronautical industry. In 2021, Motul launched the newest iteration of the 300V with revolutionary technology, setting a new benchmark for high-performance lubricants. 300V becomes a legend, just like the 300 racing victories of the time symbolised by the product name.
Now using technology, Motul developed the bespoke 300V Motorsport line for racing cars enabling the performance of each engine to be optimised in terms of the expected result, depending on the type of race, distance, engine fuel dilution, operating temperature or other specific parameters.
The 300V expertise continuously inspires every formula of Motul products. Each molecule is considered and developed with the same spirit of bringing to skilled technicians a bespoke solution for every purpose.
