Members of the Zone 4B vicinity of Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque held a five kilometre walkathon in conjunction with the 40th National Day celebration which started and ended at the mosque compound yesterday.
Acting Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri and Village Head of Kampong Sungai Besar, Kampong Serdang and Kampong Sungai Belukut Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Haji Awang Zaini bin Haji Damit were present.
In addition to enlivening the celebration, the walkathon also intended to strengthen friendship while promoting the mosque through religious and social activities.
The leisurely walkathon was also joined by the mosque affairs officer, mosque committee, youth, and Muslimah from mosques in Zone 4B.
The participants also listened to a morning lecture session that discussed the advantages and lessons of the occurrence of Israk Mikraj by Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar. – Azlan Othman
