More than 100 join bowling meet

A total of 112 participants joined the Bowling Tournament in conjunction with Irau Tupeh Padey for 2024 organised by the Lun Bawang Murut Brunei Association (PLBMB) at the Youth Centre in the capital.

PLBMB President Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Tamin bin Tuah in his welcoming speech hoped that the figure will rise next year.

The president said, “The tournament can be a good platform to highlight talented players, increase skill and experience to enhance the quality of sports among the Murut community.” He called the committee members to make an assessment and select skilled players and with potential to represent the association in their districts to play in the National Sports Festival 2025 and lead the association at overseas meets. The association expressed hopes that the players can show high sportsmanship and professionalism while having fun with family.

Several sports will be contested including netball, seven-a-side football, tug-of-war, strongman and strongwoman and track and field.

The Irau Tupey Padey event will run until January 2025. – Fadhil Yunus
