The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) hosted a colourful Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School yesterday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was the guest of honour along with his spouse.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan and his spouse also attended.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and prayer led by Khairul Ariffin bin Haji Yussof, followed by a Selawat Ibrahimiyah performance by mosque youth.
The minister and the deputy minister also toured booths, each exhibiting the food and culture of its country.
Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and wife, Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar and spouse and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang were also present.
The celebration is one of the MoRA’s annual social welfare activities to strengthen ties among its personnel.
