The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), through the Syariah Affairs Department, inspected Okazaki brand brushes sold at a shop and found it to be made out of pig hair.
This was following a public complaint.
The business was ordered to remove the product and Muslims advised to not buy and use such brushes.
The ministry reminded businesses to be vigilant when importing products and separate halal and non-halal items. This is to protect the interests of the Muslim community.
MoRA expressed appreciation for the tip-off. The public with information about non-halal products being openly sold can contact the Syariah Affairs Department through the Halal Food Control Division by calling 7166222. – Azlan Othman
