MoH reports 2,466 new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam reported 2,466 COVID-19 cases yesterday from 1,983 antigen rapid test (ART) and 483 RT-PCR results, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 34,979, said the Ministry of Health (MoH) in a statement.

The MoH also said there were 5,086 laboratory tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the MoH said three cases under Category 4 are in need of oxygen assistance and under close observation, while three cases are in Category 5 needing artificial ventilation and treatment in the intensive care unit.

The MoH said 362 cases have recovered, bringing a total of 19,404 recoveries while there are 15,466 active cases in the country. The bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide is at 8.1 per cent.

The ministry said a total of 51 per cent of the population had received the booster shots while 94 per cent had received two doses.

Yesterday, enforcement personnel in Brunei-Muara District issued a compound fine for local Md Denny Suharny bin Haji Emran for violating the stay-at-home directive.
