The Ministry of Health conducted visits to the homes of underprivileged patients to deliver charitable donations, essential supplies and medical equipment to patients and families identified and registered under the Medical Social Worker Services of the Ministry of Health across all four districts.
This year, a total of 23 patients and their families registered under the Medical Social Worker Services were identified for the visits. The visiting delegation was divided into four groups: one for Brunei-Muara District, one for Belait District, one for Tutong District, and one for Temburong District.
Of these, 18 patients received visits from the Ministry of Health delegation, while the remaining five patients received donations separately.
The delegation for Brunei-Muara District was led by the Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar who visited four patients.
In Belait District, the delegation was led by Permanent Secretary Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin visiting four patients. The delegation in Tutong District was led by Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) Dr Dayang Hajah Rafidah binti Haji Gharif who visited eight patients.
Meanwhile, the delegation in Temburong District was led by Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) Pengiran Mohammad Khiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusoff who visited two patients.
The MoH Prihatin programme is one of the welfare activities initiated by the Ministry of Health through the Medical Social Worker Services, distributing contributions collected from the Medical Social Worker Services Charity Fund. These funds were raised through generous donations from Ministry of Health personnel, non-governmental organisations, private sector entities, and individuals.
The MoH Prihatin programme is also supported by department heads within the Ministry of Health, senior officers, medical officers, nurses, hospital staff, representatives from the Allied Health Association, Brunei Cardiac Society, Brunei Society of Anaesthesiologists (BSA), Brunei Medical Association (BMA), Brunei Paediatric Society (BPS), Brunei Darussalam Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (BAMLS), and RIPASH Doctors’ Mess.
