The Ministry of Health celebrated World Physiotherapy Day with a 2.5-kilometre morning walk in the capital on Sunday.
The ‘Movement for Health’ walk, held during bandarku ceria, aimed to promote physiotherapists as experts of movement, physical activity and exercise and showcase the profession’s role in empowering people of all ages and abilities to stay fit. It aimed to enhance public awareness of physiotherapy services and promote collaboration among specialists in the field.
The event also promotes physical activity in daily life and its benefits to health, in line with the ministry’s 2035 strategic objectives.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, led the way as the guest of honour.
Several physiotherapy centres from government and private organisations also participated, with booths showcasing services as they hosted various activities for the public, which included games and quizzes.
