The event proceeded with a religious talk by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) lecturer Haji Ali Yusri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor on ‘Berkat kan tu?’. The religious event was among the activities lined up for the holy month of Ramadhan.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK) Department at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Jefri Bokiah Campus (JBC) organised a talk for campus residents yesterday.
Present at the event was Acting Principal Dr Suhaimi bin Haji Abdul Wahab, who was welcomed to the venue by the chairperson and head religious teacher at the campus Hajah Siti Faridah binti Haji Ahmad.
During his opening speech, Dr Suhaimi highlighted how the campus fosters a culture of Al-Quran reading, especially during Ramadhan, which can serve as a reminder of the teachings found within Al-Quran that will enrich one’s daily life.
As such, he encouraged that the campus residents – comprising students, instructors, and administration staff – to embrace the presentation and further expand their knowledge.
The talk, titled ‘Al-Quran Mendidik Hati dan Peribadi’, was delivered by Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Religious School teacher Haji Abdul Afiq bin Zainuddin.
In addition to the talk, the event also saw the handing of certificates to eight Imams at the campus’ surau, who had participated in leading Sunnat Tarawih prayers during Ramadhan.
They comprised five teachers from the Department of Islamic Studies, one Qiraat Shoubra graduate, and two students from the campus.
The talk represented one of the religious activities held annually since 2000 for the month of Ramadhan.
