The Ministry of Development (MoD) was allocated a BND334,918,862 budget for the financial year 2023-2024.
Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid deliberated the budget allocation during the 19th Legislative Council (LegCo) session yesterday.
BND115,181,970 will go to staff salary, BND109,937,590 for recurring expenses and BND119,799,302 for projects under the 11th National Development Plan (RKN 11) that are currently being carried out with cost price of BND1,492,174,136, according to the minister.
The budget allocation that has been provided for MoD for financial year 2023-2024 will focus on improving asset maintenance for equipment under departments of the ministry; to carry out the construction of houses in line with planning and improve the preservation of housing requiring repairs including transit terrace houses under the National Housing Plan (RPN) and improvements to apartments at RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan; and improving the maintenance of water service assets to ensure continuous clean water supply.
The minister shared that the budget allocation that has been provision for the ministry will also focus on opening up potential government lands for mixed development and managing clean and sustainable environment for water and land, including the cleaning of Brunei River and management of parks and landscapes.
