Ministry updates COVID-19 situation

New COVID-19 cases comprising 194 local and six imported cases were recorded in Brunei Darussalam yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 16,891.

The new cases were detected through 4,424 laboratory tests carried out in the last 24 hours, a Ministry of Health statement said.

The number of recoveries total 16,029 after 36 cases recovered. The Sultanate has 760 active cases.

The bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide has increased to 12.6 per cent.

Meanwhile, personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) detected four violations during the movement restriction from midnight to 4am and one violation of not having a BruHealth application.

The offenders, locals Mohd Azman bin Yuni, Aniq Haziq bin Haji Said, Mohd Afiq bin Idris, and foreigner Vivekanandam were fined for breaching the directive in the Brunei-Muara District.
