The Ministry of Health (MoH) has updated the definition of first day (Day 1) for COVID-19 cases and close contacts, shared Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in a press conference yesterday.

The minister said, “Day 1 for a COVID-19 case is when the BruHealth code changes to purple, while for close contacts, it is when the BruHealth code changes to red.

“In a scenario where a contact who has a red code and is undergoing isolation suddenly receives a positive antigen rapid test (ART) result, the BruHealth code will change to purple after the ART result is uploaded to the web portal and the day resets to the Day 1 for the individual’s isolation period.”

the BruHealth colour code change, the individual is advised to be patient and continue to isolate themselves from others.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said the MoH also announced an update on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the monitoring of COVID-19 positive cases. For those whose BruHealth codes have changed to purple or have reported positive ART results on the MoH’s portal, they will receive a short message (SMS) from the ministry containing instructions for recipients to update their health status through a link provided, to allow the MoH to monitor their health conditions.
