The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) through the Halal Food Control Division, Syariah Affairs Department has received a complaint about the spout cleaning brush set made of pig hair.
To safeguard the interests of the Muslim community in the country, the Syariah Affairs Department recommends the owners and managers of business premises to immediately exclude such brushes from sale to the public, a press release stated.
Muslim consumers in the country are advised not to buy and use the cleaning brush set.
The ministry reminded owners, managers, entrepreneurs, traders, suppliers and importers of products and consumer goods in the country to remain alert and be more sensitive to imported products and goods sold to the people in their supermarkets or shops, ensuring that products are halal and does not mix with non-halal products.
Complaints and information regarding the sale of non-halal products openly in business premises in the country can be forwarded to the Syariah Affairs Department through the Halal Food Control Division by calling hotline 7166222 or any office of the Halal Food Control Division in each district. – Fadhil Yunus
