The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) held a donation presentation for 65 orphans and 11 civilian personnel within the Brunei-Muara and Temburong districts in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan at Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil prayers led by Religious Officer from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Directorate Mohammad Fahmi bin Haji Matnor, followed by the presentation of donations and aid.
Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin presented the donations.
Similar ceremonies were held concurrently at Penanjong Garrison and Lumut Camp. Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Poh Kui Choon handed over donations to recipients from the Tutong District while MinDef Acting Director of Administration and Manpower Alina binti Abang Haji Omarzuki presented donations for Belait District recipients. – James Kon
