Eleven teams from secondary schools and colleges participated in the traditional dance competition while the ethnic dance competition saw 29 teams from primary schools. The objectives of these competitions were to encourage students to understand and learn the dance movements and variations of Brunei traditional and ethnic dance, foster a passion for cultural arts and appreciation for the cultural heritage of the Brunei community and instil noble values in them.

The event was co-organised by the Arts and Creativity Division of the Department of Co-Curriculum Education at the MoE and the Malay Islamic Monarchy Executive Council Secretariat Office.
