Ministry of Development (MoD) and its departments held a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum, Jalan Tutong, yesterday. This was in remembrance of Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Majesty’s late son, Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid and ministry officials led the delegation.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, followed by a mass recitation of Tahlil led by Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque Mosque Affairs Officer Faizal bin Janif/Rosli.
The ceremony continued with Doa Tahlil and concluded with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoD (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) Haji Shaharuddin Khairul bin Haji Anuar, heads of departments and divisions, unit heads and officers and staff from the ministry were also present.
The ceremony is an annual religious activity held by the MoD during Ramadhan. – James Kon
