The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports organised an Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebration at its Digadong Hall yesterday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour at the event that began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Brunei-Muara District Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Mohd Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini.
The event continued with the recitation of Surah Ali ‘Imran (Verses 85 to 90) by National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Youth for 1444 Hijrah champion Abdul Qawiyyel Azeez bin Haji Abdul Rajid with interpretation by Museums Department Library Officer Muhammad Amirul Izzuddin bin Samhiri.
Islamic Da’wah Centre Religious Development Officer Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustafa gave a religious lecture on this year’s celebration theme ‘Ugama Dipelihara, Negara Sejahtera’.
There were also Dikir Marhaban and Doa Selamat to fete 10 haj pilgrims from the ministry. – Rokiah Mahmud
