Ministry launches customer day

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad yesterday launched the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Customer Day.

Among the key events is the Brunei Heritage Trail Bus Adventure where visitors will tour a number of heritage sites in the capital, guided by officers from the Department of Museums and the BruneiHistory Centre.

The minister also launched several new products and a revamped MCYS official website, as well as the re-launch of Awang Budiman the icon of good manners of Bruneians, introduced in 1998 during the Bersopan Santun Kebangsaan campaign.

Yesterday’s launch at the Indoor Stadium of Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex began with welcoming remarks by Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan in his capacity as the event chairperson.

Themed ‘Collaborating With the Community’, activities lined up for the three-day event include a sign language workshop, talk on old age pension application and registration for the enrolment of the National Service Programme (PKBN), as well as a meet-and-greet’ with the gold medallists in Wushu at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games). Visitors can also engage in history interactive quizzes, cultural treasure hunt, history talk with the principal of the Brunei History Centre (PSB) and a calligraphy demonstration.

The public is welcome to participate in activities at the Customer Day event until Monday from 9am to 5pm.
