The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) held a Semarak Maulud in commemoration of Maulidur Rasul, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), simultaneously at all suraus within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) garrisons, bases and camps including Pulau Baru-Baru mosque with the focal event at Surau Pengiran Ratna Indera, Tutong Camp yesterday.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Al-Quran verses by Mohd Nur Amin bin Haji Jali from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), followed by Asmaa Ul-Husna, Selawat Tafrijiyyah, Selawat Syifa and Selawat Arzaq.
A talk on ‘Sunnah Dihayati, Hidup Diberkati’ was delivered by officer from the Islamic Syiar Development Division at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Fahmi bin Haji Matnoor.
Fahmi emphasised that the Sunnah includes conversation, actions, and approval (taqrir) of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Sunnah is a guidance for leading a productive, blessed and successful life if it is applied in daily practice.
The event continued with Selawat Badriyah, Dikir Dabaie, Dikir Istighfar and Taubat.
It concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, followed by a group photo session.The Semarak Maulud is one of the programmes organised by JAMA’AT at all RBAF suraus to commemorate and signify the great days of Islam while seeking blessings and protection from Allah the Almighty.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof attended the event.
Also in attendance were RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, service commanders, directors, commandants, senior officers and officers from the MinDef and RBAF.
Legislative Council members Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub and Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Laws, International and Research) at the Ministry of Home Affairs Haji Ahmad Nizam bin Dato Paduka Haji Ismail and Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri were the special guests. – James Kon
