The Ministry of Development (MoD) is committed to ensure Brunei Darussalam’s development remains progressive and competitive, Acting Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the MoD Aldila binti Haji Mohammad Salleh said.

She said this at the opening ceremony of Bina Brunei Expo 2024 yesterday.

She added, “The ministry is confident that it will be able to realise its set vision, mission and goals for the progress and well-being of Brunei Darussalam.”

Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid officiated the expo, organised by the Authority on Building Control and Construction Industry. Themed ‘Build Brunei Better’, the expo provides a platform to share information on services, regulations, and best practices, while showcasing development efforts by government agencies, the private sector and educational institutions. It offers the public a chance to engage with participants and learn about opportunities in the construction industry.

Following the launch, the ceremony saw the presentation of the Anugerah Cemerlang Industri Pembinaan. The award is to recognise contractor companies registered under the ministry that successfully completed construction projects with performance and quality in line with the Strategic Planning Plan of the MoD 2018-2023.

The minister also signed a plaque and toured the exhibition at the expo.

The expo is open to public until November 2.

Meanwhile, the ministry published its 2024-2029 strategic plan recently, outlining key goals to achieve its visions of quality life, sustainable development and a prosperous nation. – James Kon
