The Ministry of Education (MoE), through the Institute of Brunei Technical Education and the Department of Educators Management, held a Maulidur Rasul celebration to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) at the main hall of the Curriculum Development Department building yesterday.
The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Sunnah Dihayati, Hidup Diberkati’. Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa led by Kampong Pulaie Mosque Imam Muhd Zakaria bin Haji Mohd Salleh, followed by a special talk on ‘Muhammad Al-Mustafa, Insan Terpilih’ by mosque affairs officer at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin.
The ceremony concluded with a Dikir Marhaban, led by Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre officer Haji Muhammad Nazreen Hazwan bin Haji Suani.
Also present were permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at the MoE, heads of departments under the ministry and the vice chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
The celebration is one of the major events held by the MoE annually to express gratitude to Allah the Almighty and increase the love for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). – Azlan Othman
