The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) held an Israk Mikraj celebration yesterday at the Amar Pahlawan Hall of its premises organised by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD).
Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha attended along with Permanent Secretary at the MTIC Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications) at the MTIC Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) Haji Mohd Salihin bin Haji Aspar, chief executives, division directors, department heads, senior officers, officers and staff at the MTIC as well as departments and authority agencies under it.
The celebration opened with the recitation of verse 111 to 115 from Al-Quran by education officer at Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School Pengiran Amirul Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki.
It was followed by a special lecture from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) lecturer Dr Nazirul Mubin bin Ahad on ‘Appreciating the Wisdom of Israk Mikraj’.
The event aimed to strengthen the bonds between officers and staff at the MTIC as well as departments and authority agencies under it.
