Ministry, association discuss player safety

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar yesterday received a courtesy call from the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) President Haji Feisal bin Haji Eusoff Patail and Deputy President Haji Mahrub bin Haji Murni at the Ministry of Health (MoH) building.

The meeting was FABD’s step in forging closer relations with the ministries and government departments by sharing the plans and the need for support of the association in developing and advancing football in the country.

During the meeting, the president discussed how the MoH could assist FABD in the form of medical services and emergency vehicles stationed at venues where national level-football matches are played.

According to the president, the requirements are also the terms set by FIFA for the organisation of national, regional and international football matches.

The FABD also sought ministry cooperation to facilitate health checks among players who are set to compete in the Brunei Super League (BSL) tournament as well as the preparation of the players who will participate in the under-16 and under-17 football tournaments.

Meanwhile, the minister said the MoH will commit to supporting the football association according to the regular arrangements so the contributions and assistance provided will be fully utilised.
