James Kon

Personnel from six ministries will undergo a weight loss regime as part of the newly-introduced Fit & Active Lifestyle Club Season 1 (FALC S1) under the Workplace and Health (WAH) Programme.

The club will help participants to achieve a healthy weight and lead an active lifestyle.

The programme encourages participants to lose five to 10 per cent of their overall body weight over 12 weeks, with the final weigh-in at six months.

According to the Health Promotion Centre (HPC) under the Ministry of Health (MoH), the programme will consist between 40 and 45 participants per ministry. Twice a week, they will be required to attend activities that include group counselling sessions with weight loss experts and exercise sessions.

FALC S1 received a boost with a contract signing between HPC and six shortlisted fitness vendors on May 25, and three health professionals yesterday.

HPC Head Dr Hajah Norhayati binti Haji Kassim signed on behalf of the MoH, with HPC Management Head Haji Zakaria bin Haji Kamis as witness.

The health professionals comprise a psychologist from Clarity Sdn Bhd, a doctor from Rayyan Baharin Clinic and a dietitian from Gleneagles JPMC Sdn Bhd.

HSN Health & Fitness will conduct the FALC S1 for Ministry of Education personnel, The Boss Gym for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Fitness Rebel for the Ministry of Development, Victorious Health & Fitness Centre for the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Fitness Zone for the Ministry of Health and Primal Performance Centre for the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

At the end of the season, participants are expected to adopt a healthier lifestyle, be more active, eat healthier and be mentally resilient towards sustaining a healthier version of themselves.
