Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman conducted a visit to three mosque project sites funded under the 11th National Development Plan (RKN11) and the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund yesterday.
Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin and delegation first visited the construction site for the new mosque in RPN Kampong Meragang, funded under the RKN11.
The project began in September 2021 and is expected to be completed in January 2024, with a construction cost of BND4.3 million.
The mosque will accommodate approximately 2,200 congregants.
The minister and delegation proceeded to visit the construction site of the new mosque in RPN Kampong Mengkubau, also funded under the RKN11.
Initiated in June 2021, the project is anticipated to be completed by April 2024, with a construction cost of BND4.3 million and has a capacity for about 2,000 congregants.
The visit concluded at the site of the additional building project for the Kampong Sungai Buloh Mosque, funded by the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund.
The project initiated in May 2022 is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024, with a construction cost of BND870,000.
New facilities include additional prayer space, a funeral management room, toilets, and ablution facilities.
The objective of the visit was to inspect the progress of the projects, ensuring the smooth implementation while adhering to the established quality and completion dates.
The minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan along with officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Development. – Adib Noor
