The development of the tourism sector is not only the responsibility of the Tourism Development Department, but also requires the cooperation and commitment of private and public sectors, said Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin during a dialogue session between the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) and Legislative Council (LegCo) members at the ministry’s Setia Pahlawan Hall yesterday.
During the session, LegCo members were updated on the achievements, strategies and initiatives carried out by the Tourism Development Department, in line with the Brunei Darussalam Tourism Industry Roadmap (2024-2025) that aims to increase resilience and attract tourists while protecting the cultural heritage and nature.
The briefing was delivered by Acting Director of Tourism Development Department Salinah binti Haji Mohd Salleh.
A question-and-answer session was also held.
Permanent Secretary at the MPRT Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MPRT Noralinda binti Haji Ibrahim as well as heads of divisions and departments were also present. – James Kon
