Villagers should be grateful by the presence of mosques, suraus and religious halls in their catchment area (qaryah) where they can reap rewards from Allah the Almighty, said Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman. He said this during a ceremony to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Jangsak.
The minister said, “We should make the mosque’s existence worthwhile, instead of neglecting or misusing it. The value of a mosque is through mosque activities.”
Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin added, “Religious gatherings at mosques are important in turning them into knowledge centres where the public can interact and perform religious acts in a conducive environment.” – Azlan Othman
