Minister attends Qalbun Salim

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad attended the Qalbun Salim ceremony to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at the Ash Shaliheen Mosque, Jalan Perdana Menteri yesterday.

The ceremony started with congregational Asar prayer led by Ash Shaliheen Mosque Officer Haji Md Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran, followed by the reading of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil.

The ceremony also continued with a special religious talk titled ‘Islamic Viewpoint in Helping Persons with Disabilities’ by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) lecturer Dr Nazirul Mubin bin Ahad. The ceremony was held as a sign of appreciation for persons with disabilities who attain achievements in the development of society.

Permanent secretaries and senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and departments under it, members of the Council for the Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) and strategic partners of the MCYS also attended the ceremony.

In addition to a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony, a number of programmes and activities have also been arranged throughout December 2022 to January 2023 such as ‘Inclusive Fun Fest’ today at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, launch of the Pusat Bahagia Artisan logo and the “Art for All” Exhibition on December 8 and the inter-NGO Bowling competition.
