Concerns surrounding the functionality of the Public Service Commission (PSC) Recruitment 2.0 portal were addressed by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Minister of Defence II Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof during yesterday’s 19th Legislative Council (LegCo) session.
LegCo member Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub said the platform, also known as PSCR 2.0, did not function well when job applicants tried to upload information. Due to these issues, they visited the PSC offices to upload information but were faced with the same issues.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi in his response said that the PSC has received 44,833 queries and complaints in 2022.
Of those, 18,155 tickets were related to the PSCR 2.0 portal, including queries on procedures, errors in uploading documents, log-in issues and activating the PSCR 2.0 profile.
He said all queries and complaints were given assistance and addressed. Since April 2021, PSC has been running recruitment counters to further assist the public.
The minister added that the PSCR 2.0 data is being stored at the E-Government National Centre on a private cloud server.
PSCR 2.0 was launched on September 7, 2021 as an improvement over the previous portal.
Its development was aimed to provide more features in the system, while being more user-friendly.
“A number of other improvements were also carried out, including providing high specification hardware and software for data to be processed faster compared to the previous system,” said the minister.
“The applicant profile module was also improved, enabling applicants to fill in their information more easily, and not affecting the applications that they have submitted.”
The minister said the PSC will continue to obtain feedback from the public regarding the effectiveness of PSCR 2.0, and their experience in using the portal via a survey, scheduled to be carried out in the second quarter of the year.
