MinDef retirees called on to share knowledge, experience

Ministry of Defence (MinDef) retirees were encouraged to impart their knowledge and experience to those still in service and the younger generation during a certificate presentation and award ceremony at Bridex Hall, Jerudong yesterday.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof called on the retired civil servants to contribute decades of experience and knowledge in helping the country navigate current and future development challenges.

He also asked for them to support the concept of holistic defence and the whole-of-nation approach in achieving Brunei Vision 2035.

Yesterday, the minister handed over certificates and souvenirs to some 175 civilians under the MinDef who retired in 2020 and 2021. Three recipients also received the Excellent Civil Service Employee Award 2022. – Azlan Othman
