The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held an Israk Mikraj celebration for 1443 Hijrah conducted simultaneously at the MinDef and the RBAF suraus including the Pulau Baru-Baru Mosque, with the main focus at Surau Al-Huda, Royal Brunei Navy, Muara yesterday.
The celebration follows the theme ‘Sembahyang Ku Kerana Allah’.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Commander of RBAF Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan also attended the ceremony.
Officers and personnel from the MinDef and RBAF were also present.
The ceremony featured a mass recitation of verses from Al-Quran as well as a special talk by Abdul Rahman bin Ajak from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB). Attendees also performed the mass Asar prayer. The ceremony was held to commemorate the events of Israk and Mikraj of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as well as to appreciate the virtue of performing the five obligatory prayers.
