The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) conducted simultaneous Israk Mikraj celebration for 1446 Hijrah across all suraus at the ministry and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) camps, with the main event at Surau Ar-Rahman, Lumut Camp.
The event, prior to Asar prayer, included the recitation of Surah Al-Isra’, verses 1 – 7 and a special talk on ‘Sembahyang Mencerdaskan Minda’ by trained religious teacher at the Defence Academy RBAF Haji Abdul Nasir Saufi bin Hassan.
The special talk highlighted that prayers are the cornerstone of a Muslim’s life, a divine gift that offers profound benefits to the body, soul, and mind.
“Every movement contributes to physical health, reduces stress, calms the heart, enhances clarity and rationality in thought. Thus, prayer is not merely a spiritual act but also a complement to intellectual excellence and emotional well-being.”
Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan was in attendance.
Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin and members of the RBAF executive committee, directors, senior officers, officers and personnel of MinDef were also present.
Legislative Council members from the Belait District, acting deputy permanent secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, representatives from the Royal Brunei Police Force, Brunei Fire and Rescue Department, representatives from external agencies, penghulus and head of villages also attended.
