His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman, attended a high tea reception yesterday in conjunction with His Royal Highness’ 49th birthday celebration hosted by the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at the Officers’ Mess in Bolkiah Garrison.
Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses were His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness 920 Major (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Upon arrival at the Officers’ Mess, Their Royal Highnesses and members of the royal family were greeted by Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd Kadir, and RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
During the reception, Their Royal Highnesses were invited for a group photograph session and were introduced to the RBAF personnel involved in the Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT), the Philippines, RBAF personnel under the Malaysian Battalion 850-9 (MALBATT 850-9) for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the recipient of the RBAF Commendation Award of the 12th RBAF Command and Staff Course 2022, and newly commissioned officers who received Awards of Excellence from the 21st intake of Officer Cadets, RBAF Officer Cadet School.
His Royal Highness was presented with a video clip and photobook album titled Sejambak Ristaan XVI, a collection of photographs of His Royal Highness including during previous high tea reception of His Royal Highness’ 48th birthday celebration hosted by MinDef and RBAF last year.
The event proceeded with the signing of a Commemorative Parchment, a cake-cutting ceremony and a pesambah.
A Doa Kesyukuran was recited by Royal Brunei Navy Acting Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim.
