The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) deployed the second Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) Team to Manila, the Philippines yesterday.
The deployment of the second Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) HADR team was held at the Air Movement Centre, Rimba Air Force Base.
Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan was present at the ceremony.
Chargé d’affaires from the Philippines Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Bernadette A Mendoza, Philippines Defence and Armed Forces Attaché, members of the RBAF Executive Committee, senior officers from MinDef and family members of the team involved in the mission were also present.
The second team, comprising 20 personnel and led by Major (U) Abdul Haqim bin Haji Yahya, flew using two Royal Brunei Air Force Blackhawk S70i helicopters.
The primary assignment for the second team is a continuation of ‘Operasi BADAI TADUH’ to ensure the smooth and effective air logistic support, specifically in extending the delivery of aid provided by the Philippines government to remote regions with limited accessibility within Bicol Province.
