Micronet International College celebrates class of 2024 graduates

A total of 110 proud graduates from Micronet International College, comprising 95 students from the Pearson BTEC Computing programmes and 15 from the Pearson BTEC Business programmes, were celebrated at the Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony held at The Empire Brunei on Tuesday.

The Minister of Education, Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, graced the event as the guest of honour and presented certificates to the graduates. Also in attendance were Micronet International College’s Managing Director, Sylvester Yong, and General Manager and Principal, Sharon Chin.

A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates and special merit awards to two outstanding graduates. Ainaa Zukrina binti Haji Abdul Manap, who completed the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Computing (Network Engineering), was recognised for her exceptional academic achievements, leadership, and analytical skills. Dayangku Nur Izzati binti Pengiran Muhammad Nizem, a graduate of the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Computing, was lauded for her consistent display of teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

In her welcoming address, Sharon Chin expressed admiration for the dedication and resilience shown by all graduates. “Whether you are graduating in Computing or Business, your commitment has been unwavering. These qualities will undoubtedly serve you well as you pursue further studies, join the workforce, or even start your own ventures. We are immensely proud of you and look forward to your future contributions,” she said.

The graduates completed various IT and Business programmes, including the Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Information Technology, Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in Information Technology, Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Diploma in Information Technology, and Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diplomas in Computing and Network Engineering. Business graduates pursued courses such as the Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Business, Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in Business, and the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Business (Management).

Micronet International College also serves as a satellite partner for Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), offering the 14-week Undergraduate Degree Entry Pathway (BriCOMP) programme. This programme provides an entry route for students who do not meet the A-Level or International Baccalaureate (IB) points required for UTB’s admission. Successful BriCOMP graduates progress to the Computing Bachelor Degree programme at UTB, where Micronet offers Bachelor of Science (Hons) degrees in Computing with majors in Network Security and Multimedia.
