The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) commemorated its 40th anniversary with “MFA Day” held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas on Wednesday. The event, marking the Ministry’s establishment in 1984, was officiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The programme opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a tour of the MFA Photo Exhibition. Open to the public, the exhibition highlights the founding of the Ministry and showcases significant milestones achieved over the past four decades.
Her Royal Highness also graced the commencement of the Model United Nations (MUN), a one-day simulation event involving students from 21 government schools and youth representatives from selected non-governmental organisations. The MUN provided participants with hands-on experience in United Nations operations, offering insights into its mechanisms and procedures.
Additionally, students participated in an “MFA Talk,” where Brunei Darussalam’s diplomats shared their expertise and experiences, inspiring participants to gain a deeper understanding of diplomacy, particularly in Brunei Darussalam’s foreign policy.
The event also features informational booths open to the public, presenting an overview of the work undertaken by each department within MFA and providing details on opportunities available through bilateral partnerships, including scholarships.
The MFA Day Photo Exhibition will remain open to the public on 27, 28, and 30 November 2024, at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
