Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (MDPMAMB) since 2018 has organised a Student Mentoring Programme (SMP), Principal Dayangku Hajah Nooramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad.
The programme “aims to monitor the academic progress of students in the red and yellow zones by holding scheduled meetings every week with mentor teachers to help and guide students to recognise their academic potential and fostering self-confidence to excel in the Brunei-Cambridge GCE (BG GCE) ‘A’ Level examinations,” she said. “This is one of the college’s efforts that has shown results in ensuring excellent success every year in the ‘A’ Level examinations.”
Dayangku Hajah Nooramaliatifah said this during an Academic Excellence Awards ceremony for the academic session 2023–2024 at the Citra Gemilang Auditorium.
The principal highlighted that MDPMAMB was proud of the excellent results obtained from the BG GCE ‘A’ Level 2024 assessment, namely the achievement for 3 ‘A’ Levels is 77.66 per cent with this percentage showing an increase of 10.1 per cent from the previous year.
For the achievement of 2 ‘A’ Levels and above, MDPMAMB obtained 91.95 per cent. This percentage shows an increase of 5.71 per cent from the previous year. Meanwhile, for the achievement of 13 A Levels and above, the principal said, “MDPMAMB has obtained 97.7 per cent and this percentage shows an increase of 1.4 per cent from the previous year. All achievements exceeded the national average.”
She also said the college has always been sensitive to the students’ needs to improve the quality of learning. A total of 376 graduates received convocation certificates, marking the successful completion of their BG GCE ‘A’ Level studies. The event also recognised outstanding academic performance across five award categories.
Twenty-eight received the Outstanding Award for the BG GCE ‘A’ Level examinations (October/November 2024) while 24 were awarded with Special Mention Award by Subject for the BG GCE ‘A’ Level examinations (October/November 2024, while one graduate received Top Most Achievement Hostelite Award for the BG GCE ‘A’ Level examinations (October/November 2024. Seventeen took home the Top Overall Award for the Upper Sixth AS Level end-of-year examinations 2024 while 16 were honoured with Special Mention Award by Subject in the AS Level End-of-Year Examination in 2024.
