Coinciding with Movember, a Men’s Health Awareness Campaign, an engaging event with awareness talks organised by The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) of Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) was held at the Baiduri Community Space at the Baiduri Bank headquarters.
The event held in support of Baiduri Bank’s Employee Wellness Programme which encourages staff to learn more about men’s cancer and mental health was attended by PJSC Movember campaign event sponsors, partners and corporate clients along with staff from PJSC and Baiduri Bank.
An introduction to Movember and men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancers as well as men’s suicide kicked off the event.
This was followed with talks by TBCC doctors, Consultant Medical Oncologist Dr Ravi Sekhar Patnaik on ‘Common Cancer Among Men in Brunei Darussalam’ and ‘Radiotherapy: Treatment for Cancer’ led by Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist and Head of Radiotherapy Dr Jacob Samuel Justin.
The event also held a forum featuring TBCC doctors, Ministry of Health Clinical Psychologist Haji Mohamad Danial Azizi bin Haji Mahadi and cancer patient Aaron John Ho Junjie. The forum highlighted the importance of cancer screening for men available in the country under the National Health Screening Programme.
The event then concluded with a financial talk by Baiduri Bank’s Wealth Management Senior Financial Planner Mohammad Aliff bin Haji Mat Japar.
