Mekar passes inspection, set for Eco-marathon challenge

Team Belia Tabah reached a milestone at the Shell Eco-marathon Asia and Middle East 2025 Competition, successfully passing the technical inspection and earning the opportunity to compete on the track with their battery-electric vehicle, Mekar.

The technical inspection consists of 11 stages, evaluating aspects such as mechanical integrity, electrical systems and driver safety. Each vehicle must meet the strict safety and performance standards set by the competition before being cleared for track testing and competition.

With Mekar now officially approved, Team Belia Tabah is ready to take on the next challenge: optimising performance during practice runs and competing against some of the most energy-efficient vehicles in the world.

“This achievement reflects the hard work and perseverance of our team,” said Team Manager Mohd Hifdzur Azmi bin Haji Mohd Zain. “Passing technical inspection is not just about compliance; it’s about ensuring that our vehicle is safe, efficient and ready to perform at the highest level.”

The team will now focus on fine-tuning their strategy, making the most of the remaining days of the competition to push Mekar’s efficiency and performance to its full potential.
