National football governing body Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) discussed opportunities to advance football in the Sultanate.
FABD President Haji Feisal bin Haji Eusoff Patail met AFC Secretary General Datuk Seri Windsor John for a discussion at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.
At the meeting, the FABD president explained the developments and achievements of FABD since leading the association about four months ago.
The president also explained plans that have been prepared for the Brunei Football League tournament organised by FABD and shared information about the status of FABD.
Meanwhile, discussions for FABD’s needs in developing infrastructure also received the attention of the FIFA Member Associations for Asia and Oceania Director Sanjeevan Balasingam.
The meeting also touched on the importance and needs of FABD funds allocated by FIFA for FABD infrastructure, football development in addition to FABD administration.
While at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, the FABD President held a meeting with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) President Ednaldo Rodrigues Gomes.
The two presidents exchanged views to strengthen relations and then touched on various important aspects, especially the level of head coaches of football and futsal for youth and grassroots.
FABD Deputy President Haji Mahrub bin Haji Murni, Acting General Secretary Matali bin Haji Tahir and executive committee member Pengiran Haji Jufry bin Pengiran Haji Jeludin also attended the meeting. – Fadhil Yunus
