Meet the stylish and spacious seven-seater MPV

GHK Motors Sdn Bhd, as the exclusive authorised distributor of Maxus flagship vehicles, held a showcase of the all-new Maxus MIFA Luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at the Maxus main showroom in Sumbangsih Bahagia yesterday.

The MIFA, stylish, spacious and technologically advanced, is a people mover for the next generation. Its bold face framed by daytime running lights, wide stance and distinctive LED rear light signature redefines what people movers should look like.

The luxury seven-seater MPV is set to shake up its segment thanks to its sleek exterior styling, latest safety and technology features, and room for every passenger to travel in comfort and style no matter how far the journey.

“Design-wise it is very attractive, modern and sleek. I think with the package available its in a good position in the market. I feel that with the competitive point in design and specifications, especially the massage feature, it will be a comfortable ride to go Kota Kinabalu or Miri especially with long queues at the borders,” said Azri, a visitor at the showcase.

He has still not examined the infotainment system, but from what he heard from the sales manager, the features sound amazing especially as it has a 540-degree surrounding camera able to detect a cat on the roof or below while it uses the same chips as Tesla.

The Maxus MIFA will be the new rival of Luxury MPV marketed in the Sultanate, said Pengiran Fairol, who is no stranger to the local car review scene. He said that it is the perfect seven-seater vehicle that can cater not just for a large family but also an alternative transportation for VIPs. “And with the price, this is definitely another good choice to own a luxury brand with lots of high-tech features.”

The all-new Maxus MIFA comes in two different trims – Premium and Luxury. MIFA comes equipped with either a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 230hp or a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with just 120hp.

The MIFA is imposing with its large vertical grille, slender LED daytime running lights and prominent side cutouts for the main LED head lamps and air intakes and plenty of chrome garnish on display.

Customers can choose either a premium two-tone paint scheme with concrete grey primary colour and black roof or all monotone colour such as Blanc White, Pearl White, Mica Blue and Metal Black.

Safety continues to be a vital mainstay of every new Maxus model and the new MIFA is no exception. MIFA models come packed with a more robust list of safety features and driver assistance features as standard including electronic stability programme (ESP), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), brake assist, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, hill descent control and traffic sign recognition.

All these are standard across the range, with the only difference between the variants being the inclusion of a 360-degree camera for the premium trim. – Lyna Mohamad
