Local media representatives took BMW iX xDrive40 and iX3 electric vehicles (EVs) on a test drive event hosted by QAF Auto yesterday.

The test drive began at Starbucks in Beribi and the route included Jerudong Park and Berakas Forest Reserve before circling back to the starting point.

The event was held to give a better understanding of BMW i models and also raise awareness of EV’s sustainability and capability.

The EV market in Brunei Darussalam is still in its infancy and most locals are still unsure of the new technology. EV owners do not have to worry about engine oil or oil filter changes and can charge their vehicles at home saving trips to petrol stations.

With BMW’s latest technology, its EVs pack a punch in acceleration and with relatively high top speed.
