In the spirit of Ramadhan and as the festive season draws closer, underprivileged individuals nationwide were bestowed with kurnia peribadi (personal gifts) with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
For the Brunei-Muara District, the ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman with personal representative of His Majesty, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, presenting His Majesty’s personal gifts to 1,000 recipients for Brunei-Muara District.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.
The personal gift, in the form of cash, comes timely bringing great meaning and joy to all the recipients comprising those with special needs, orphans, the poor, those facing financial hardships, and those who receive monthly welfare assistance as the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration nears. – Adib Noor
