Minister leads event in Brunei-Muara District
The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) through the Community Development Department (JAPEM) organised the Ramadhan Charity Expedition Programme 1446/2025 across all four districts yesterday.
The initiative distributed daily necessities and hampers among 17 underprivileged families, including recipients of JAPEM’s monthly welfare assistance, orphans, senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad led the delegation in the Brunei-Muara District with the team visiting five households beginning in Kampong Lupak Luas, followed by Kampong Junjongan, Kampong Putat, Kampong Subok and concluding in Kampong Rimba.
Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Lawi bin Haji Lamat who is also the Kampong Subok Village Head, LegCo member Yang Berhormat Zainol bin Haji Mohamed who is also the Kampong Putat Village Head, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at MCYS Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah and Acting Director of Community Development Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh accompanied the delegation.
Permanent Secretary (Youth) at MCYS Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin led the delegation in the Temburong District.
The team visited four households, starting in Kampong RPN Rataie followed by Kampong Belais, Kampong Parit Belayang, and concluding in Pekan Bangar.
Department heads, directors, senior officers from MCYS and JAPEM as well as penghulus and village heads were also present. – James Kon
Donations aid recipients in Belait District
Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Suip bin Haji Abdul Wahab led the delegation visiting four recipients, beginning at Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh in Kuala Belait in the Belait District.
Legislative Council members Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman and Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann, along with officers and staff from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Community Development Department, as well as village heads from Kampong Pandan B, RPN Kampong Panaga and Kampong Sungai Liang were also present. – Daniel Lim
Underprivileged families in Tutong receive aid ahead of Hari Raya celebration
Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan led the delegation in the Tutong District.
The delegation visited four households, beginning in Kampong Kiudang and continuing through Kampong Kuala Ungar, Kampong Bukit Udal, and Kampong Sengkarai.
Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan who is also the Kampong Sengkarai Zone 2 Village Head; LegCo member Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub who is also the Mukim Ukong Zone 1 Penghulu; as well as department heads, directors, senior officers from MCYS and JAPEM, and other local leaders also joined the delegation.
